YOU CAN REST EASY KNOWING YOUR DOG IS IN GOOD HANDS

Letting your dog have free-time to interact with other dogs and humans of all ages is one of the most important things you can do to help them develop into a calm, confident dog.

SOCIALIZATION

A supervised alternative to leaving your dog crated all day, doggie daycare provides an environment for dogs to play and be around people and other dogs. Socialization is an important part of any dog’s training and being exposed to a variety of other pooches in a controlled environment can be fun for all.

TIRED DOGS

A tired dog is a good dog and many dog owners feel that play time is one of the best benefits of doggie daycare. After playing with other dogs for several hours, their pets are ready to lie down or cuddle after a long day.

HEALTHIER DOGS

Dogs who get more playtime and exercise are often healthier and live longer, so you get to keep your best friend around longer.

Little White Dog

The name “Little White Dog” is a tribute to the owner, Barb Berman's little white schnauzer, Sam, who passed away at the ripe old age of 17. Sam was a tolerant, loyal, sweet pup with a big personality and loved by all. Barb would bring him to work with her whenever possible, and he even had a conference room named in his honor.

"I hated leaving him alone all day, and he didn’t like it either, so Little White Dog is our dream come true."

~Barb

I love coming in and getting to see the dogs every day. I work hard to build relationships with these pups that are being trusted with my care. We don't speak the same language, we don't see things the same way, but with enough time and attention, the dogs will let you know how they're feeling and all I do is respond to that. It's very cliche, but they teach us a lot about living in the moment and accepting what may come. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a dog relax and feel safe in your care when their parent is trusting you on the other side of that exchange.

I always tell people that working here with the dogs has been nothing short of my dream job, so it means the world that I get to do this everyday, especially knowing that when I come in I get to see their smiles and hear them barking in excitement to get to say hi! It always makes me feel like the luckiest guy in the world!

Going home and knowing that a dog that I handled had a great day means the world to me. I adore seeing our dogs everyday, I even miss them on the weekends. It really warms my heart, especially when I know they feel the same. I always make sure that all of the dogs in my care have the best experience I can give them.

I’ve loved animals my whole life, and dogs are definitely no exception! It’s so fun and interesting seeing the different personalities come out of the pups when they’re playing, when they meet a new dog friend, or when they meet new people. The shy ones are my favorite, because once they break out of that shell, the fun chaotic energy emerges and you know you’re in for a fun-filled day! It’s definitely bittersweet when they have to go home after their play has ended, but when they go home tired and happy, I know I’ve done my job right!

I consider myself lucky to be around our dogs and to care for them everyday, for over 3 years, at Little White Dog. Watching our newbies personalities start to shine, or seeing our usuals play with their clique, to watching our old timers lounge in the sunspot has become a primary spot in my heart and mind.

What I love most about working with dogs is each dog’s many personalities. It's almost equivalent to working with children in a way. There are the shy wallflowers, the wild class clowns who want all of the attention, and the older grumps who want to fully enjoy their daily naps. Almost everyone has their own group or cliques that they like to stick with. Being able to learn everyone's quirks over time is part of the fun. Dogs make life better because they are so loyal and have never-ending love for us. Everyday is a joyous one just to be around the ones they love. To receive that love almost like clockwork everyday, there isn't any other feeling like it.
